What are Peer Support Groups?

Peer Support Groups are groups of people with a common condition, experience, or life adversity, who come together to provide emotional and practical support to one another. They play a key role in the promotion of health and wellbeing, community inclusion, and demonstrate the value of lived experience. As a result of belonging to a peer Support Group, individuals, families, and carers build the knowledge, confidence, and skills to manage their wellbeing and recovery.

Membership

As a Peak Body, our members include peer Support Groups and organisations that operate peer Support Groups as part of their service delivery. Acknowledgement of Country

ConnectGroups acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Western Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We further acknowledge the traditional carers of the land upon which our office stands, the Whadjuk Noongar people, and pay our respect to them and their cultures; and to Elders past, present, and emerging.
